Coaching Staff – Boys

This is Chris’ sixth year coaching the Lynx and being a part of Westmount Lacrosse.  Chris was born in Geneva, Switzerland and grew up in the small town of Fair Haven, New Jersey.  He attended high school at the Hill Academy in Ontario, a sports-specific school that focused largely on lacrosse, hockey, and physical fitness.  He played Tri-State Lacrosse for six years.   He is a certified referee with Ontario Lacrosse Association.  He is a graduate of McGill University.

Currently, Chris is a teacher at a Montreal secondary school.  He was a member of the Redmen Lacrosse team for four years, notably the 2012 National Championship team.  He is a Lacrosse Specialist and counselor at McGill Sports Camp (2013-2016) and the head lacrosse counselor at the Wingate Lacrosse Camp.

James Vickery

James Vickery grew up in Wrentham Massachusetts, a suburb south of Boston. He played high school lacrosse at Xaverian Brothers H.S., where his team made two state final appearances and had its first undefeated regular season.  James then came to McGill University joined the Redmen lacrosse team as a two-way midfielder. He completed his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering in May 2014  and is currently working towards his PhD engineering. James has been coaching the Westmount Lynx since 2012.

Alexander Kruse

Born in Ottawa and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Alex Kruse played in the Oakville Minor Lacrosse Association growing up. He field played in the Ontario EDGE Program while also playing Junior B box for the Oakville Buzz. Kruse played two years at McGill University, leading the team in scoring and earning All-Canada honours as a freshman in 2009.

He graduated from McGill University’s Bachelor of Education program in 2014 and is currently teaching high school on Montreal’s North Shore.

Augustus (Goose) BoltonGoose graduated from Darien High School in 2014, finishing off the year with an undefeated lacrosse season with the Blue Wave. Currently studying in the arts program and playing Attack for the McGill Redmen. Coached and helped out in the “Blue Wave Buddies” and Darien Youth Lacrosse Assosciation programs starting in the eighth grade and continuing throughout high school career.

Kevin Miao

Kevin Miao has eight years’ experience coaching lacrosse and has been playing the sport since his youth. He was born in Montreal but grew up in Westchester County, New York. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 2008, earning Academic All-American honors and helping Yorktown to two Section 1 titles and state semifinal appearances. He went on to captain Duke University’s club lacrosse team. Kevin is currently involved with the McGill University Redmen team and is in his second year coaching the Lynx.

Sebastian Trott

Sebastien Trott graduated from Westfield High School in New Jersey, where he won a State Championship his senior year. He has coached the Lynx for the past two seasons, and has played lacrosse for his entire life. He is a certified level 2 coach with both the NCCP and US Lacrosse. Sebastien is entering his fourth year at McGill, where he studies Microbiology and Immunology.

Matt Bouzianis

Matt has been coaching the Lynx for four years, three years after he started college at McGill.  He is a box lacrosse and faceoff specialist.  Matt’s playing style and coaching approach can be summed up in the first 20 seconds of his recruiting video from St. John’s Prep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QIEBSCHWq4

Paul Rougeau

Paul was born in Owensound, Ontario and moved to St. Louis, Missouri in the United States in 2000. Paul was a football player converted to lacrosse player. He started playing lacrosse his first year of high school at De Smet Jesuit. Paul had opportunities to play lacrosse in the USA for university, but decided to attend McGill’s engineering program and their lacrosse team. Paul was a part of the 2015 undefeated championship team at McGill and is working towards a repeat of this in the years to come.

Sam Ruderman

Sam is not only a great lacrosse coach but also an animal lover.  A frequent contributor to “Cat Fancy” magazine, he is the proud owner of two tabbies (“Patches” and “Bernie”) and a Siamese (“Top Cheese”).

Alex Ketchum

Alex Ketchum is the Head Coach for the Westmont Lynx Girls’ Lacrosse Program. Ketchum has been the Head Coach of McGill University Women’s Lacrosse alex-kTeam for the past 3 years (since 2014). She played varsity lacrosse at Wesleyan University during her undergraduate studies and played for McGill for the first 2 years of her graduate studies before taking over as coach. Alex is a member of the Team Canada Lacrosse Athlete Pool and has represented the United States in tournaments in China and Japan. She is completing her PhD in History.
